How to make the best use

  • CONSISTENCY IS KEY:

Follow your doctor's instructions and strictly wear your aligners for a minimum of 22 hours per day to achieve the best results.

  • HANDLE WITH CARE:

Wash your hands thoroughly before touching aligners, and handle only one aligner at a time.

  • PROPER USE:

Insert your aligners by wetting them and gently pushing them over your front teeth and applying equal pressure to your molars (back teeth) until they snap into place.

When removing them, use your fingertips to slowly ‘peel them away’ from your teeth, starting from the inner (tongue) side of your back molars.

  • USE CHEWIES:

These can help seat your aligners properly for a uniform fit.

Simply place the chewie between your teeth and the aligner, squeeze down for about 30 seconds, and repeat.

This method should be done each time you get a new aligner for the first 3 days, at least 2-3 times per day.

  • DAILY MAINTENANCE:

Clean your aligners daily with a soft-bristle toothbrush and water, and avoid using denture cleaners or soaking them in mouthwash. Remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than cool water, and remember to brush and floss your teeth before reinserting them.

  • STORAGE:

Always use the aligner case provided in your starter kit to store your aligners when they are not in your mouth, and keep older aligners in a clean plastic bag as instructed by your doctor.

Avoid leaving them on surfaces where they could be easily lost or damaged, and be cautious of pets who may be tempted to chew on them.

  • GETTING USED TO IT:

Initially, you may find it difficult to speak or experience extra saliva, but these issues typically resolve within a few days.

Things to note, just in case:

  • YOU LOST AN ALIGNER:

If you have worn the lost set for 6 days or more, simply start the next set.

If worn for less than 6 days, go back to the previous set and call us for a replacement.

  • YOU NOTICE A CRACK:

Handle them the same as lost aligners. There is a charge to replace lost or damaged aligners.

  • AN ATTACHMENT FALLS OFF:

Please call us to schedule a repair visit.

Oral Hygiene with Aligners

Maintaining good oral hygiene is extremely essential for the success of your Invisalign treatment. Don’t forget to:

  • REMOVE Aligners BEFORE Eating and Drinking:

Take out your aligners before meals and snacks, and brush and floss your teeth before reinserting them.

  • REGULAR Dental Checkups:

Schedule regular dental checkups and cleanings to ensure good health of your teeth and gums.

By following these guidelines and practising proper oral hygiene, you can maximize the effectiveness of your Invisalign treatment and achieve the smile you've always wanted.
